Timeless, personality-driven school portraits—created with care, organization, and a calm, child-centered atmosphere.

Families love this approach.

“The session was short, sweet and stress-free! The photos turned out beautifully! Alicia captured each of my three children in character, while still maintaining the "school photo" standard. WAY better than my personal experience of school photos at a public school.”

“Super sweet and absolutely adorable photos of my baby!!!”

School portraits don’t have to feel rushed, stiff, or forgettable. Fine art school photography focuses on what matters most—your students as they truly are. With a calm, well-organized process and simple, timeless black or white backdrops, I create natural school portraits that highlight each child’s personality while making photo day smooth and stress-free for both schools and families across Southern Oregon.

Why Fine Art School Photography?

Portraits That Feel Timeless—Not Trend-Driven

Traditional school photos often rely on bright backdrops, forced smiles, and one-size-fits-all posing. Fine art school photography takes a different approach. Using clean black or white backdrops and thoughtful lighting, these portraits remove distractions, so the focus stays where it belongs—on your students’ expressions, eyes, and individuality.

No seasonal props.

No awkward posing.

No fake smiles.

Just classic, beautiful portraits that will still feel meaningful years from now.

A Calm, Child-Centered Experience

As a family photographer and mom, I understand that children thrive when they feel safe and seen. Photo day is approached with patience and flexibility, allowing each child to settle in at their own pace. This creates space for genuine expressions—whether that’s a soft smile, a thoughtful look, or a spark of curiosity.

The goal isn’t perfection.

It’s authenticity.

FAQ

What do you offer for schools?

I photograph individual student portraits, group or class photos, and staff images. My approach is simple, natural, and designed to capture kids as they really are—personality-driven, timeless, and authentic.

How is this different from traditional school photography?

Instead of stiff poses and forced smiles, these portraits are relaxed and timeless. Each child gets several images to choose from, and families can select the ones they love best. This modern approach ensures portraits highlight the personality and spark in every student’s eyes.

How do families get their photos?

After picture day, every family receives a private online gallery. From there, they can view the portraits and order prints directly through the online print store. Digital files are also available individually or as a full gallery. Everything is handled online for ease and convenience, making it simple for busy families. Families typically receive their galleries within 4 weeks after photo day.

What does the school need to do?

Very little! I provide everything needed for picture day and organize the flow of sessions. Schools receive clear instructions ahead of time, so the process runs smoothly. The cost is always free for the school to host a photo day.

How many students can you photograph?

I can work with schools of any size, from small preschools to larger elementary campuses. We’ll plan together to make sure the schedule works well for your community.

When do you book school portraits?

Sessions can be scheduled throughout the school year. Many schools prefer fall, but spring or other times of year work just as well.

How much do families pay?

Families can order prints or digital files through their private online gallery. I keep pricing simple and transparent. You can view full details on our school photography pricing page.

Do you provide extras like class photos or yearbook images??

Yes! Class or group photos are available, and I also provide the school with any images needed for yearbooks, staff directories, or websites.
